Is It a Fixture Clog or a Main-Line Problem?
Noticing how many fixtures are affected helps estimate where an obstruction might sit before physical equipment is used:
Single Affected Fixture: When only one sink or shower drains slowly while every other plumbing fixture works fine, the blockage may be confined to that specific fixture's drain pipe.
Multiple Affected Fixtures: If flushing a bathroom toilet makes water gurgle in the bathtub, or if running laundry causes sink backup, the restriction often points to a main sewer lateral or shared branch pipe.
